Paint Your Wooden Furniture at Home and Give a New Look

Refinishing furniture is time investing and hard work,but it is worth it when you see that you have created a custom piece of furniture for your home.There are many techniques, but today I am sharing a basic guide with you.

Okay,let us see which supplies we need in this project:

• Murphy is oil soap

• Medium and Fine grit sandpaper

• Primer

• Tack cloth

• Paint

• Paintbrush

• Foam roller

• Topcoat

Now let us start the work:

Step-1: Separate all drawers(if have) and clean your furniture properly.Use Murphy is oil soap to clean.

Step-2: Sand the furniture with medium grit sandpaper so that the paint will have a good surface(use fine grit sandpaper between paint coats).Use tack cloth to remove dust.

Step-3: Now after dust free and drying the furniture,paint on primer.It covers any discoloration in the wood.

Step-4: Sand again the furniture with fine grit sandpaper.This gives a professional and better finishing look.

Step-5: Now paint the furniture thinly.Repeat 2-3 coats.After painting,let is dry it for 24 hours.

Step-6: Then you can seal it with Min wax Finishing Wax and again let it dry  for 10-15 minutes.

After sealing the furniture, leave it alone for a day or two before using it or touching it.
